JULES introduces his latest banger “Pegasus” via Future Rave Music. The talented DJ and music producer is ready to display his skills and sound with this new Future Rave track that ticks all the boxes to become his next hit.
While he keeps working on new hard-hitting music to be released in the coming months, we invited him to talk about the behind-the-scenes process of the production of ‘Pegasus’. Check out our interview with JULES below.
Hey JULES, how’s things?
Everything’s cool!
“Pegasus” is out now, what was the idea behind this track?
The idea came from the vocal samples I used in the track. Those are astronaut radio speeches and I thought they were unique and fresh. So, I built the whole song around it as a space travel story, starting from the take-off through reaching space, and then a bombard in the final drop!
What kind of samples or plugins did you use while producing the song?
I mostly used Serum, it is one of my favorites.
How does this track differ from your previous releases?
I would say it is more EDM-ish and more of a festival sound.
When did you know the track was ready?
Good question, because I had the final version of it since March, but I thought maybe I want to change something in it. In the end, I kept it the same.
What do you want people to feel when they listen to this track?
I think the track is really energetic and powerful, but it also has an emotional part, so hopefully they feel some kind of mix of those!
What was your favourite part of the production process of “Pegasus”?
Probably the bass. It is a classic rolling bassline, but I think I could give some spark to it by adding a couple of percussive layers and textures. I like that I could make it really wide in the mix too!
What do you think is important to keep in mind while making music?
To be unique and fresh but don’t overthink it, just go with the flow and most importantly enjoy it!
What is the best advice you can give to someone starting their music production journey?
You have to be really passionate about it because it takes a lot of time. Don’t compare yourself to others, everyone’s path is different, and it can do a lot of harm mentally. Just do your job in your way and things will start to happen!
Finally, what’s coming up for JULES?
Actually, I was really productive in the last couple of months, so I have a ton of new unreleased music! Right now, I am finishing them and in the upcoming weeks I will hopefully find some cool labels to release! So, keep an eye on my socials!
