Terry Golden keeps releasing hard-hitting bangers that put his name high on the list of innovative acts in the Electronic Dance music world.
Recently, he dropped an outstanding track titled “Fading” alongside singer-songwriter Eileen Jaime, which features the signature style and powerful sound he’s known for.
We invited Terry Golden to tell us more about the process behind-the-scenes of producing ‘Fading’ and what his upcoming plans are. Check out our interview with Terry Golden below.
Hey Terry Golden, how are you?
Well feeling great, but time is really flying, and I can’t believe it’s soon 2023. 2022 was a very busy and special year, as I have taken big steps for my future, both on the live scene and music-wise, so maybe that’s the reason why time is just FADING away… (haha, reference to my latest release.)
“Fading” is out now, what inspired this production?
I actually just kept evolving my sound, as it was at the point I wrote it. The special thing is that it was finished more than 8 months ago, and about 12 months since I started this project. It’s another project I have done together with the super talented vocalist Eileen Jaime from the US, so I’m happy it’s finally out.
Does the track have a specific sonic or musical influence?
Surely, this track as some of my others tracks, has a musical reference to the Future Rave sound, Morten and David Guetta are doing, but this has some House in it as well, especially in the verse sections.
How does this song differ from your previous releases?
It doesn’t really, all it does is, that it has a more Future House vibe than my summer releases, and for the time being, it will be my last Big Room style track, as my future musical journey is more Progressive and Melodic.
What’s your favorite part of the track?
Haha, obvious answer, all of them. I really like the vocal part as it complements the drops in a less dramatic way than some of my previous releases.
How would you describe “Fading” to someone who hasn’t listened to it yet?
Catchy melody and very energetic drop.
Do you have any tips for music producers?
Yes, always produce based on a production template which should include kick, hats, snare and types of samples you use in all productions anyway, so you have a consistent sound. Also, save your favorite pre-sets in a main folder, for the same reasons, so you base your productions on the same sounds – which will be a big part of fine tuning your signature sound.
Who would you like to collaborate with in the future?
Right now, it would be an honor to collab with CamelPhat Music, Cristoph, Afterlife and ARTBAT as they are a big inspiration for my future sound.
How would you describe the signature Terry Golden sound?
I am just on the edge of releasing new music in the Progressive and Melodic Techno world, and here I really feel I am coming with something new. It will be Melodic and Progressive but still with a twist of the Future Rave / Trance synths which is the new Terry Golden universe.
What’s coming up for Terry Golden?
I have a whole bunch of new music ready in my new direction, so 2023 will be both packed with releases but also hopefully, a great update on the live performance side very soon – A lot of good things going on at the moment.
