Hailing from the Ukrainian capital of Kiev, Neon Black Dreams is the musical project from keyboardist, synth player and backing singer JJ and lead vocalist Yara Glorien. Formed last year, they’ve already been making waves with their unique electronic pop sound.
Taking influence from the likes of Depeche Mode, The Eurythmics and Madison Beer, they draw on their vastly differing sonic backgrounds to combine as Neon Black Dreams and bring their shared artistic vision to life. With touches of pop, synthwave, post rock and tinges of R&B vocal stylings, they’ve been delighting fans around the world with their music ever since their debut single “Reach for the Light”, released at the start of the year.
Continuing their momentum throughout 2022, they’ve dropped a total of eleven singles which have now been compiled as their debut full-length release on their first album titled Kiss of the Universe. Framed as a concept story, with each song representing a new chapter released each month during the year, on the record the story is finally pieced together in a dramatic and captivating fashion.
Following characters on an adventure set in 1989 as they run across the country seeking their destinies and evade both the law and their own fears, on Kiss of the Universe Neon Black Dreams weave an engrossing tale wrapped up in their distinctly alluring electronic pop sound.
Featuring their brand new single which serves as the title track and closing song of the album, “Kiss of the Universe”, they’ve also released an accompanying music video to add a visual pairing to the track.
