Brooklyn-based artist E.W. Harris is a singer-songwriter, producer and experimental artist who makes his own unique style of dreamy folktronica. The veteran musician has lived all over the USA and played his music all over the world, sharing his uncompromising sonic vision.
Unveiling his wildly creative sound in 2010, he released his debut album A Waste of Water and Time to deliver fifteen original songs that captured his stunning songwriting and elegantly floating vocal work. Over the years he’s dropped a further five full-length records, including two collaborative albums with both The Sara Entourage and Caves & Clouds with Jo Kroger.
Now working on his next LP titled Homunculus IV, this year he’s released two singles lifted from the upcoming record. Sharing the lead single “Hammerhands” in August, he now brings us the second track and latest release with “The Damage”.
Written as a story about the presence and pressure of love and memory, on “The Damage”, the artist weaves his moving and reflective lyricism through a minimalist folk electronica arrangement. Carried by his beautiful soaring vocal delivery and backed up by an airy sonic tapestry full of delicate atmosphere, E.W. Harris crafts a breathtaking ethereal sound that channels the aesthetic of Chris Martin leading a Bon Iver soundscape.
The first song penned from the perspective of the album’s protagonist, “The Damage” helps to set the tone for what’s to come and build excitement for the forthcoming release from an endlessly talented artist.
