Appropriately based in Nashville, Tennessee, Nick Noon is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who deservedly sits alongside many of the city’s best acts. The all round music talent has been making waves with his emotive sound and relatable lyrical writing as he constantly pushes the boundaries of his artistic work to capture his love for a range of different genres and styles.
Having written hundreds of songs over the last few years, he’s earned comparisons to songwriting greats such as Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams and Bob Dylan from The Static Dive who hailed his “brilliant lyrical style”. With his own original music, he sets his compelling vocal work against a backdrop of graceful and appealing instrumentation to craft timeless indie rock music for the modern world.
In April last year he introduced the world to his solo artist endeavour via the double-sided single with the tracks “Don’t Let the Papers Get You Down” and “Dear Delilah”, giving us the first taste of his enduring sound that stands up to the very best out there. Now he brings us his latest work with the new single and music video for “Costumes”.
Weaving a bold and theatrical indie rock sound that channels the aesthetic of The Strokes filtered through Nick Noon’s own melodic lens, with “Costumes” he offers a dazzling alternative anthem. Lifted from his forthcoming debut EP A Jejune Affair, on his latest single Nick Noon spins a grandiose composition full of energising rhythm, luscious strings, charging guitars and big brass tones all capped by his velvety vocals carrying rich and memorable melodic leads.
A wonderful showcase of his talent as a singer and songwriter as well as his musicianship and arrangement panache, with “Costumes” Nick Noon delivers a euphoric and charming new song that builds further excitement for his upcoming EP.
