Hailing from New York, Chris Ianuzzi is a visionary artist with an innovative sonic career that spans almost a decade. Crafting deeply immersive soundscapes, he spins transportive audio compositions that take the listener to new sonic dimensions via his wildly creative writing and expert sound design skills.
In 2013 he unveiled his artistic vision with his first track “Ambient Womb for Baby Sleep” which he followed up a few months later with his sophomore single “The Overlook”. In 2020 he dropped the three-track release Olga in a Black Hole before dropping his impressive full-length record Planeteria.
Now, after a string of releases over the last year, he brings us the groundbreaking AI powered music video for his song titled “Lonesome Highway Superstar”. Lifted from his new album Maze, the track channels the sonic aesthetics of pioneering artists such as Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, Aphex Twin, Amon Tobin, Oneohtrix Point Never, Gary Numan and John Carpenter.
Linking up with Ethem Serkan Sökmen and İlke Köse to create the music video, the visuals were made using Disco Diffusion and Stable Diffusion AI image generation tools and techniques to craft a mind-bending trip through interstellar worlds.
Spinning a brooding post punk sound full of piquant instrumentation and eerie vocal style “Lonesome Highway Superstar” offers an atmospheric and entirely unique sound. Paired perfectly by the hypnotic music video, Chris Ianuzzi’s latest artistic offering pairs his highly original sound with cutting edge technology to deliver a truly awe-inspiring release.
Commenting on the song, he shares, “Itâs a Journey on the course that life is making. Starts in a dream state. Thereâs a loneliness and longing. It shows a positive step forward when the chorus comes. In the middle section, it becomes clear that there is a longing for a person.”
Adding, “My initial idea for a video was a âRoad Warriorâ type with a beat up car on a desert highway. After I thought about this and saw what Serkan and Ilke did with AI in making the video for March of Madness, I thought it was time to search for something different. I thought, let’s put the character in space and make the journey Cosmic. I shared my thoughts with them and off they went.”
