Eleo releases new single “Expectations”

North London-based artist Eleo is an all round musical talent that plies his rapping, singing, songwriting, composing and violin skills to his music. From performing as a classical violinist at just four years old to rapping in the UK grime scene by the time he was thirteen, his sonic story is unique and serves to demonstrates his creative versatility and the depth of his talents.

Crafting his own original sound of experimental, soulful hip hop, his music has resonated with listeners around the world and seen Eleo work alongside leading artists such as Clean Bandit, Louis VI and OthaSoul as well as groups like London’s Roundhouse Music Collective. He’s also dropped videos through DBTV and BBC Radio 1 under the alias Subzy as he continues to go from strength-to-strength with each new move.

With his own music, he’s collaborated with the likes of Tadafi on 2015’s single “Half of It”, Nikki Cislyn on “Watch Out” the following year and more recently AVP International. With his latest release, he shares his brand new single titled “Expectations”, linking up with AVP International under the duo’s moniker Eleo Perez.

Capped by his sleek vocal flows that flutter between laid back rapped bars and floating hooks, with his latest single Eleo pens a track about struggling with high standards and the burnout that can result from juggling several creative pursuits.

Commenting on the moment of clarity that came about when he wrote the song, he shares, “I realised many of the things I was trying to achieve weren’t necessarily for myself, but to try and impress and please others.”

Featuring shimmering guitar work from Pete Johnson, a surprising beat drop from Dozer Carter and smooth bass lines from Pete Johnson, on “Expectation” Eleo delivers a breezy modern alternative hip hop outing that confirms the hype around an exciting artist on the rise.
