Indie Electronic from Arc of Sun

Australian experimental electronic outfit Arc of Sun is a trio formed by musicians Giosuè Prochilo on vocals and synths, Christian Prochilo on bass and drummer James Cartledge. Together they combine to create their highly original sound that fuses elements of prog rock, trip hop, IDM, ambient and touches of industrial tones and eastern melodic influence.

Making their introduction in May of this year, they unveiled their sound via their debut release with their first full-length record titled Unfold. The ten-track release sees the band spin deeply immersive soundscapes of rich sonic tapestries to deliver a captivating listening experience full of memorable and unpredictable moments.

Bringing us the eighth track from the album, they share their song “Mater Ignis” – Latin for ‘Mother Fire’ – to showcase the perfect taste of their highly original sonic vision. Dark, exotic and truly engrossing, on the track Arc of Sun craft a hypnotic sound that explores new territories.

With vocals that flutter between English and Latin, they paint a picture of an ancient goddess in modern day form in both a vivid and abstract way. A display of their entirely unique sound, as well as their talents as vocalists and instrumental performers, “Mater Ignis” stands as a highlight on a worthy debut record from an exciting new act.

Accompanying the song is a brand new music video created by EX-ZERŌ to pair a future-themed, psychedelic VR scenario, in a perception-bending visual trip into the subconscious of visual artist and Arc of Sun songwriter, producer and vocalist Giosuè Prochilo. The video presents dream-like, sensual encounters with global forms of the feminine that seductively lure viewers into the cryptic depths of the virtual simulation.
