2023 is fast approaching and what better way to welcome it than to remember the main highlights of the past year. Music, unique milestones and new projects are some of the things Bubba Brothers experienced in 2022.
We invited them to talk more about what this past year meant; what they learned and what are their plans for the holidays. Check out our interview with Bubba Brothers below.
Hi, thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. 2022 is almost over, we want to know what is your most important highlight of the year, both musically and personally?
Hi there, thank YOU for this opportunity. Highlight is difficult to say… we had many but I think the Ibiza Tour… it was awesome and special.
What was your favourite release of 2022 (of your own)?
Wow⊠itâs geting worse… LOL… maybe “Bass”.
And what was your favourite track of the year from someone else?
The track we enjoyed the most to play in 2022 is âOpusâ from Eric Prydz. We did not really like any specific release of 2022.
Did you have any special standout shows this year either that you played or attended?
As we said before Ibiza âEs Paradisâ show was top and also playing with Oxia at the Rooftop Eva was amazing.
What was the biggest lesson you learned in life 2022?
Donât take anything for granted. Stay humble.
And following on, what was the biggest lesson you learned in music?
Follow your instinct and your musical soul.
If you could send yourself a message to you 5 years ago, what would it be and why?
Message would be short âBELIEVEâ. Also, to explain why… you canât get anyone to believe in you, if you donât believe in yourself.
How has your sound developed in 2022?
We tried to mix experimental tracks on a Melodic and Progressive sound with our typical ârootâ House tracks that our fans are used to. And we shall continue to do so in 2023.
Who would you say was the most innovative artist in 2022?
Wow! Hard to say⊠but we think that Jamie xx has brought us all something new. Just listen to “Kill Dem”.
Which label or labels do you think where at the top of their game in 2022?
Defected, Univack, Glasgow Underground and Cleveland Jack are the ones that stand out.
If any, do you have any regrets for the year behind us?
Wish I could have played Tomorrowland.
What are your plans for the holidays?
Doing some new tracks and coming out with our best EP yet… stay tuned!
Just for fun, if you had to take a classic Christmas song and remix it, what style would it be and what could we expect?
“Driving Home For Christmas” by Chris Rea… and turn it into a burning house track!
Where will you be spending New Yearâs Eve?
Weâll spend New Yearâs Eve with friends and family in The Algarve. Home.
If you had to put 2022 into one sentence, what would it be?
Loved every second of it.Â
