Play Records drops ‘NYE 2023’ compilation

Established in 1996 by artists Melleefresh and DJ Spydabrown, over the last two and a half decades, Play Records has become one of Canada’s leading electronic music labels and publishers.

Since rising to prestige by nurturing the early works of EDM sensation deadmau5, the label has enjoyed a successful journey that’s seen it work with countless top music acts and expand across the Atlantic to open Play Deep Studios in London where they’ve hosted international artists such as Chance the Rapper, Spice Girls, Adam Lambert, The Veronicas, Emeli Sandé and Popcaan.

Now as 2022 draws to a close, Play Records prepares to say goodbye to another stellar twelve months and embrace the coming year with their new compilation release NYE 2023. The epic thirty-track release features the best tracks from leading DJs and producers who have collaborated with the imprint, combining to create a staggering release of outstanding electronic music.

With the first half of NYE 2023 getting the listener set for the whirlwind sonic journey, the compilation opens up with house and disco hits from the likes of DaGroove from Spain, Who Killed Alice and Rob Alexander from the UK, Foomie of Japan, Canada’s Nightly Closures, Billy Newton-Davis and Kardano remixed by Melleefresh, ACT Music Producer and Elegant Producer from Brazil, Parker McFarland from the USA, and Italy’s HGenius.

On the second half, we’re treated to a mesmerising mix of after-hours vibes and underground-approved tracks of progressive, future, tech and bass house from the likes of Tom Glass of Poland, Joey Alto and Nesse J from the USA, Don Data from Canada, Spanish artist Löök, Turbo-D from Germany, CHMI from Mexico, the UK’s Robert Evans, and Frenzy Jones of Bulgaria.

From start to finish, NYE 2023 offers up a non-stop showcase of incredible electronic music by artists from all over the world to celebrate the last year and bring in 2023 with a bang.
