Based in Berlin, Bromsen is an emerging duo formed by musicians Richard and Karlo in 2021. With a shared love for infectiously catchy melodies, the electric energy of synthesiser instrumentation and driving guitar work, they offer their own brand of pop-focused synth rock music.
During the early 2000s, the pair played together in another outfit, gracing the stages of almost every single indie rock venue in Berlin. When the group disbanded in 2006 while on the cusp of breaking out, Richard and Karlo met again years later to rekindle their sonic partnership and deliver their creative vision as Bromsen.
Having just released their sophomore effort “The Photograph”, they bring us the perfect taste of the Bromsen sound with their debut single titled “Merryman”. Written about being yourself and letting your inner ‘Merryman’ shine through, with their first song they encourage listeners to enjoy life in these often chaotic and difficult times.
Laying down a bright arrangement of guitars and an array of synth tones, driven by an energetic snapping beat and capped by soaring vocal leads carrying vibrant hook-filled melodic writing, on “Merryman” Bromsen drop a fiercely catchy hit.
With their accomplished songwriting experience and assured musical performance talent, their introduction to their new project sees the pair deliver a charming synth rock sound as they make their triumphant return to the music scene.
