Based in the Namibian capital city of Windhoek, Proklaim is a visionary hip hop artist who uses his slick flows and thoughtful lyricism to instil meaning in his sonic output. Having originally grown up with Ugandan parents in Zambia, he left his home country and headed to Namibia to attend University.
While studying, he started to make his own music and took the first steps on a journey that would see him flourish as an artist under the Proklaim moniker. First learning to rap while playing guitar as a backing, he then progressed to laying his vocals over beats while developing his own original take on the hip hop genre.
Citing influence from the great rappers of Tupac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Big Pu, Nas and Lauryn Hill, Proklaim first made his studio music introduction in 2018 with his debut single “One Way”. Since then he’s dropped a bunch of killer tracks, as well as his debut full-length record with the eight-track Zion’s Hill last year and had the music video for his 2020 single “Kingz” featured on MTV Base.
Now after the success of his first album, he brings us his final track from 2022 with the single titled “Priceless”. Released via PenPushaz Entertainment, with mixing by Lu Diaz and Chris Athens on mastering duties, with “Priceless”, Proklaim spins a laid back neo-trap rap sound full of deep, grooving bass lines and capped by his beat-perfect vocal flair.
Reeling off his introspective lyrics via blistering verse bars, “Priceless” features a dazzling, soulful chorus full of melodic leads. Closing another exciting year for the rising rapper, with his recent track, Proklaim once again confirms the hype surrounding him as he continues to share his cutting edge modern hip hop sound.
